Get started with Cloud Markup

Start in the right workspace

Open the Cloud Markup application and sign in with your application account. Check the selected organization before creating a project: membership and permissions belong to that workspace. Your support portal account is separate from your application account.

Choose a starting point

1. Create a project and choose Blank canvas, Start from a template, Import existing code, or Describe with AI.
2. Give the project a recognizable name and review the starting options shown.
3. Choose Create project. If you used AI, review the proposed resources, connections, limitations, and credit receipt before choosing Use this diagram.
4. Open the canvas and inspect the services and their configuration. A template or AI proposal is a starting point for your review.

Make the design your own

Use the service catalog to add supported AWS services. Configure each service and use its connection handles to express supported relationships. Review Issues as you work; changing how a diagram looks does not by itself correct its configuration.

Prepare a handoff

Let the draft finish saving, then create a saved revision. In Revisions, choose the exact revision and Generate export. Review the generated infrastructure, diagrams, and validation evidence before using your own deployment process. Cloud Markup does not deploy the package into your AWS account. For a focused walkthrough, continue with creating a project or reviewing an export.
